This kind of cleaner is becoming more and more popular, both because of rising pollution levels and people's susceptibility to allergies. They're also very good for smokers, who want to keep their cars from smelling like an ashtray as much as possible. Basically, they're miniature versions of a regular air cleaner that you plug into the cigarette lighter of your vehicle. These can be pretty good - the one downside I've found for them is that you have to make sure you unplug them when they aren't in use. Some brands can run down your car battery if you don't, and you don't want to have to get a jump just because you leave it in all the time. Here's a couple you can look at:
This one goes for about $40. It's an ionizer, which means that it charges particles of dust or junk that come through it with energy. That makes them stick to stuff - in this case, to the filter inside of it. It runs silently, and it's good for getting rid of smells. You have to periodically remove a little filter and wipe it down with a cloth to get rid of the dirt. You do need to make sure you take it out when you're not using it, though - forgetting once won't kill your battery, because it doesn't run constantly (it turns on and off as needed) but you can't just leave it plugged in.
This is a slightly cheaper version. It'll only run you about $20. Again, it's an ionizer, so it runs the same way, and it's also silent.
This one is pretty much the same thing and works basically the same way. It's also about $20.
These three were the top rated ones I could find, so you've got a couple of good choices here. They aren't that expensive, so I think it's worth a shot at them if you've got odor issues with your car or if you are particularly sensitive to some kind of allergen.
